You Look At It

Welcome to Ether Way

When you step off the asphalt court and observe society from the balcony, you notice a clear pattern: every major system runs on the exact same autopilot script of fear, division, and noise.

The Ether Way is the living workbench where we put those heavy, entrenched systems through the mirror. Through fast-paced, disorienting short stories, comics, and real-world lot reflections, each entry drops you into a space where the laws of culture and reality are flipped—where hatred is recognized as a tragic mental glitch, where human dignity replaces political posturing, and where clean hands beat complex games.

No sermons. No lectures. Just unvarnished stories and reflections that strip away the noise and remind you of what it actually means to be human.

Wait, What? (Book One)

An Ether Way Novel | Part of The Observer at the Gate Series

“The lace curtain in Arthur’s front window had been pulled back at the exact same angle for thirty-two years… Ether Way was his kingdom of predictable routine, and Arthur was its self-appointed sentinel.”

A story of modern parables, Hermetic principles, and the transformative power of radical grace.

When Arthur’s rigid world glitches open, he finds himself plunged into three unexpected lessons of radical grace—confronted by chai tea across a chain-link fence, warm peach cobbler on his porch, and a broken water main in a midnight storm. Wait, What? is a moving, witty, and deeply human journey from isolation back to community.

Beyond the Dictionary: The Frequency of Words

By The Observer

We spend most of our lives using words like blunt instruments. We trade definitions, win arguments, and build defense walls out of vocabulary. But if you sit quietly long enough, you begin to realize that words carry something far beyond their dictionary entries—they carry a frequency.

A word spoken in fear or judgment lands heavy and toxic, regardless of how polite the phrasing might be. A word offered in warmth and genuine respect carries an resonance that can disarm thirty years of bitterness in an instant.

I was reminded of this when thinking back to Tom. Tom wasn’t a man given to long, flowery speeches. He didn’t need them. He could look you straight in the eye and say, “Bill, you knucklehead,” and you felt more loved, seen, and held in that single phrase than in a thousand formal speeches. Why? Because the frequency behind it was pure, unconditional grace.

When we stop listening to the dictionary definition and start listening to the intent—the silent heart behind the vocal cords—everything shifts. We stop fighting the words, and we start healing the human.

🎵 Without You: The Story Behind the Song

True collaboration stands the test of time. Whether it’s building a sound booth out of 2x4s in a basement or putting lyrics to a melody from junior high, real creations carry an energy that never fades.

The Story

Long before digital studios, streaming links, or instant uploads, music was made with real hands, built-out of basements, and pure heart.

The story of Without You goes back all the way to Jr. High. My friend Floyd wrote the original piano composition. Years later, we decided to bring it to life on a homemade CD produced right in Floyd’s basement—inside a custom sound booth built from scratch.

To top it all off, our friend Nancy—a unbelievable wedding singer—stepped up to the mic and laid down the vocals and backup vocals. I wrote the lyrics to express what it truly means to hold onto the person who completes your life and takes away the fear.
